Zenith caps No.1 blast furnace in Nantong
China’s Zenith Steel on 9 May capped the No.1 2,300m³ blast furnace at its green steel base in Jiangsu’s Nantong City. The furnace was constructed by China 20th Metallurgical Corporation, Kallanish notes.
The BF has a design capacity of 1.96 million tonnes/year of iron. The official commissioning had been scheduled for September 2022 or later, but could now be brought forward.
