Xi Jinping signs South African deals
Chinese president Xi Jinping arrived in South Africa last week and signed deals on Thursday that will boost Chinese investment in South African industry and infrastructure. Although no direct mention of Hebei Iron and Steel’s proposed steelworks came out of the official account, investments in infrastructure and manufacturing are likely to boost demand for Hegang’s output, Kallanish notes.
