Wuxi Xinsanzhou Special Steel has detailed its Baotai cold-rolled stainless steel project in Luoyuan county in Fujian province, which has a design capacity of 1.1 million tonnes/year of CRC.

The construction, starting this April, will last for three years and the company will invest a total of CNY 5 billion ($770 million), Kallanish notes. It will add two continuous stainless steel cold rolling mills, four 20-strand rolling mills, 24 stainless steel annealing units, and three tension levelers over two phases.

The two phases of the project will realise 90,000 t/y of processing and 1.01m t/y rolling and processing capacity respectively. Hot rolled coil feedstock will be provided by Baosteel Desheng.
