Dillinger Hütte claims record cast with 600mm slab
German platemaker Dillinger Hütte cast a slab on 25 July, which it claims sets a new world record.
The slab was 600mm thick with a length of 2,200mm, the company says. One year ago the German mill started up its new continuous casting machine CC6, and announced that maximum slab thickness would be 500mm (see Kallanish 7 July 2016).
