Whitehaven Coal dips under production guidance
Australia’s Whitehaven Coal produced 20.78 million tonnes of saleable coal in the twelve months ending June 2017, up 6% year-on-year but just below its guidance of 21-22mt. The company notes that its shipments in the June quarter were impacted by a train derailment and port congestion.
On the Dalian Commodity Exchange, September coking coal settled up CNY 16/tonne at CNY 1,169/t ($172/t), while September coke settled down CNY 0.5% at CNY 1,859/t. Australia…
