Weekly production at US mills declines
The latest weekly report from the American Iron and Steel Institute shows that US mills cut back production during the week ended 12 February.
Raw steel output in the US was an estimated 1.758 million short tons during the week – a 1.5% decline from the week before but 1% higher than the same week in 2021. Mill capability utilisation was 79.8% during the week compared to 76.8% at this time last year.
