Adverse weather conditions put Usiminas on emergency footing
Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas says that has adopted a special contingency plan for its Ipatinga facilities, Kallanish notes. The measure follows the forecast of extreme weather conditions in eastern Brazil in the coming days. The Usiminas plan also foresees the plant reducing its production in the case of emergency conditions being declared, the steelmaker says in a note.
