Pricier EU-origin deal stuns Turkish scrap market
An EU-origin deal confirmed late on Wednesday at a higher price has surprised the Turkish imported scrap market, which had in recent days been debating future price direction, Kallanish notes.
A mill in the south bought 20,000 tonnes of HMS 1&2 80:20, 10,000t of shredded and 10,000t of bonus grade at average $442/tonne cfr Turkey, with HMS 80:20 corresponding to $434.5/t cfr.
