Weaker auto demand, inventory replenishment slash Tata's sales
Tata Steel’s standalone sales in India fell -10% on-year in the third fiscal quarter through December 2018 to 2.97 million tonnes, although production rose 2% to 3.33mt, according to the steelmaker’s provisional data.
Sales declined due to seasonal headwinds, particularly in terms of softer automotive demand and inventory replenishment, Tata Steel observes in a note seen by Kallanish.
