Vietnam mine project ends Kobe’s ironmaking hopes
Both local and central authorities in Vietnam have now spoken firmly against the Thach Khe iron ore mining project in Ha Tinh province, making the mine increasingly unlikely to be developed. That would keep Vietnam dependent on iron ore imports and putws an end to Kobe Steel’s hopes of building an ironmaking plant near the mine, Kallanish notes.
