Vedanta’s June-quarter ore output falls, steel production strong
Indian mining company Vedanta reported a 27% on-quarter decline in iron ore production for the April-June 2024 quarter, notes Kallanish. Total saleable iron ore output for the quarter was 1.3 million tonnes.
The sharp decline was due to a suspension order in April on Vedanta's mine in Karnataka for non-compliance with the approved mining plan.
The suspension was lifted on 21 May, allowing operations to resume.
