Rains deform Vale’s Maravilhas III dam, measures taken
Brazil’s Vale says its Maravilhas III dam has shown some deformation as a result of the heavy rains that hit Minas Gerais in January, Kallanish notes.
The miner informed state environmental authority Feam that an inspection carried out on the structure detected a modification and bulging of the soil. The changes, however, are not having any impact on the stability of the dam.
