Vale’s iron ore shipments lower in January
Brazilian miner Vale saw iron ore exports fall month-on-month in January. Lower shipments resulted from the heavy rains that hit the country at the beginning of 2022, Kallanish notes.
According to Sindicato Nacional da Indústria da Extração de Ferro e Metais Básicos (Sinferbase) data, Vale’s exports of iron ore in January were 22.28 million tonnes, down by 5.3% over December but 26.6% more year-on-year.
