Vale’s August iron ore exports hit 12-month high
Brazil miner Vale saw iron ore exports grow month-on-month in August, but they fell on-year, Kallanish notes.
According to Sindicato Nacional da Indústria da Extração de Ferro e Metais Básicos (Sinferbase) data, Vale’s exports of iron ore in August were 28.1 million tonnes, 14.8% higher m-o-m but 3.5% less year-on-year. This volume was the highest shipped since August 2020, when Vale exported 29.13mt.
