Vale sued in Netherlands for Samarco dam accident
Brazil's Vale faces new legal action over the collapse of the Samarco dam, this time in the Netherlands.
The mining company has been sued by 77,000 individuals and nearly 1,000 businesses and associations from seven Brazilian municipalities in the Bahia, Espirito Santo and Minas Gerais states. They claim to have been affected by the failure of the Fundão dam in November 2015 and demand €920 million in compensation, Kallanish notes.
