USW, Moly-Cop avert strike
The United Steelworkers labour union and Moly-Cop AltaSteel have reached a last minute deal to avert a planned strike at the company’s Edmonton, Alberta, facility, Kallanish reports.
The USW had planned to strike at the grinding media and rebar producer if a contract was not in place by 28 May. Workers at the facility had been without a contract since the previous contract’s expiration on 31 July.
