Evraz’s Uskovskaya mine to increase coal output

Russia’s Uskovskaya mine, part of Evraz’s Raspadskaya coal company, has put into commercial operation a new longwall, the company says. Its reserves are 2.5 million tonnes of coal, Kallanish notes. In May, production will amount to 250,000 tonnes, but the goal is to eventually produce 290,000 t/month. As part of the preparation of longwall 48-06, 7km of mine workings were covered. Mining of reserves is carried out at a depth of 220 meters.  …
