Usiminas to resume blast furnace in April 2022
Brazilian steelmaker Usinas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais confirms it will restart blast furnace No.2 operations at its Ipatinga plant next April. The unit remains halted since September following an accident. The furnace has a monthly production capacity of 55,000 tonnes of pig iron.
Meanwhile, the company’s chief financial officer, Alberto Ono, confirms that the revamp of BF3 is scheduled for the second quarter of 2023.
