Usiminas restarts blast furnace No. 3 next week
Brazilian steelmaker Usiminas says it will restart blast furnace number 3 (BF3) at its Ipatinga plant in Minas Gerais state on 24 January.
BF3 is the largest of Usiminas furnaces with an annual crude steel production capacity of 3 million tonnes. The upgrade totalled nearly BRL 2.72 billion ($559.3 million).
