New Usiminas converter comes on stream
The new 180-tonne converter installed at blast furnace No.2 at Usiminas’ Ipatinga mill has been officially put on stream, according to the equipment supplier, Danieli.
The investment also includes a new air-cooling system for the barrel part of the vessel and water-based cooling for the top cone, Kallanish notes.
