Usiminas increases crude steel production in 2019
Brazilian steelmaker Usinas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais (Usiminas) saw its annual crude steel production increase year-on-year in 2019. Finished products' output, however, fell on the same basis, Usiminas says in its quarterly results monitored by Kallanish.
Crude steel production totalled 3.26 million tonnes in 2019, 5.7% higher compared to 3.08mt in 2018. Rolled products output in the period amounted to 4.06mt, down by -4.2% y-o-y.
