Usiminas denies blast furnace re-start at Cubatão
Brazil’s Usiminas has denied a local media report that it is to re-start a blast furnace at its Cubatão plant, Kallanish notes.
In a written answer to a Brazilian Stock Exchange request for clarification, the steelmaker says there is currently no information on the topic that needs to be disclosed to the authority.
The furnace was shuttered in October 2015 as Usiminas had then made a decision “… to carry out a temporary interruption …
