Usiminas sees first quarter crude steel output fall
Brazilian steelmaker Usinas Siderúrgicas de Minas Gerais (Usiminas) saw crude steel production fall both year-on-year and quarter-on-quarter, Kallanish learns from the company's results statement.
Crude steel output was 737,000 tonnes during the first three months of 2017, -7.2% lower y-o-y, and -5% less than in the last quarter of 2016. The production of rolled products in Q1 was 965,000t, a 9.6% increase y-o-y, but -3% less than in Q4 2016.
