US sheet imports slide in February

US imports of all three major sheet categories appear to have fallen in February, Kallanish learns from license data collected by the US Department of Commerce. US importers applied for 115,189 tonnes of hot-rolled in February, down from 144,019t in January. Cold-rolled licenses, likewise, fell from 206,101t in January to 198,631t and hot-dipped galvanized licenses fell from 282,301t to 249,066t. No one major country-of-origin was responsible for the fall.…
