US scrap settles after astronomical rise
Amid a lack of pig iron supply and sharp increases recorded in the Turkish scrap market, the US scrap market has settled after astronomical price rises during March-trading last week.
Although trading started later than expected last week, mills have been forced to pay sky-high prices, especially for busheling, amid a pig iron supply shortage from the CIS due to the Ukraine war, sources observe.
