US rebar prices surge after scrap-driven mill hikes
US spot pricing for domestically produced rebar has increased this week, by $30-40/short ton, as price hikes issued by the mills earlier this month are accepted while their scrap input costs grow obviously higher.
"The mills' hike has been entirely absorbed," observes a northeastern fabricator.
