US rebar prices increase following CMC price hike
US rebar prices rose this week following the decision by US bar manufacturer Commercial Metals Company (CMC) to increase its rebar prices by $40/short ton last week, Kallanish reports.
According to market sources, the US rebar spot price range has increased by $10/st from price levels last week.
A Northeast distributor currently places rebar in the $575-585/st price range.
"Prices are up this week after the price hike earlier last week," says the distributor.
As a result, Kallanish moved its price assessment Tuesday for #4 product in 20-foot sticks to $575-585/st. All prices are ex-works, domestic mill.
