US rebar imports spike in June
Rebar imports appear to have hit at least a 12-month high in June, Kallanish learns from US Department of Commerce license data.
The US applied to import 267,933 tonnes of rebar in June, up from May’s preliminary total of 80,403t. The previous high was set in July 2016 with 264,156t. In the majority of the intervening months, import levels ranged from about 70,000t to 200,000t.
