US manufacturing index reveals growth in December
According to data gathered by the Institute for Supply Management (ISM), economic activity in the US manufacturing sector grew from November to December, Kallanish reports. In the month of December, the ISM's purchasing managers index (PMI) registered at 60.7%, up 3.2% from November's reading of 57.5%.
An increasing manufacturing PMI indicates an overall US economic expansion for the eighth consecutive month following contractions in March, April, and May.…
