US manufacturing expands in June
US manufacturing economic activity expanded in June according to the US Institute of Supply Management (ISM). The overall economy grew for the 97th consecutive month, the ISM adds.
The June purchasing managers’ index (PMI) registered 57.8%, an increase of 2.9 percentage points from the May reading of 54.9%. A reading over 50 indicates manufacturing growth, Kallanish notes.
