US makes changes to steel import monitoring system
The US Department of Commerce has adopted changes modifying its regulations regarding the Steel Import Monitoring and Analysis (SIMA) system, Kallanish reports.
According to a notice published late last week, the changes adopted in the final rule will require license applicants to identify the country of origin for steel imports as well as the country where steel used in the manufacture of the imported product was melted and poured.
