US loses two rigs, Canada adds six on-week
The US rig count is now down to 588 for the week ended 21 June, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes. The total reflects 94 fewer units than the equivalent week of 2023.
This US total is two fewer rigs than the prior week, when the number of active rigs was 590. Of the new total, 485 are oil rigs, 98 are for gas, and five are categorised as miscellaneous.
