US imports slip, still above yearly average
US imports ticked slightly down in April but remain well above the previous 12-month average, Kallanish reports.
The US preliminary import tally for April reached about 3.007 million tonnes, about 3% higher than March’s final tally, according to the US Census Bureau.
Prior to March, however, monthly imports remained below the 3 million tonnes/month line, with the average coming in around 2.5m t/month.
