US loses 7 rigs, Canada adds 10
The number of active oil and gas rigs in the US is lower by seven week-on-week, whilst Canada has added 10, Kallanish learns from oil services company Baker Hughes.
The US rig count is now down to 581 for the week ended 28 June, 93 fewer units than in the equivalent week of 2023. Within the current US tally, 479 are oil rigs, and 97 are for gas, with five categorised as miscellaneous.
Texas lost five rigs, whilst New Mexico and Oklahoma each lost one.
