US bulk scrap market weakens in East Asia
The bulk scrap heavy melting scrap import market in East Asia has weakened in tandem with the softening in international scrap markets, regional trading sources tell Kallanish. Korea’s Dongkuk Steel purchased one deep sea cargo of 32,000 tonnes from a West Coast US scrap supplier at $344/t cfr Korea HMS I basis. The cargo is due for mid-November arrival.
