Ural Steel contracts Danieli for vacuum degasser revamp
Metalloinvest’s Ural Steel plant has contracted Danieli to revamp its vacuum degasser (VD), which will lead to the unit increasing capability to 1.8 million tonnes/year of special steels from 1.1m t/y.
A new dust separator system will separate the VD dust, thereby decreasing the need to clean the vacuum pump. A new hydraulic suction line switch will make it possible to operate both VD tanks using either the existing or new vacuum pump. All this will r…
