Universal Stainless adds electrode surcharge
US stainless producer Universal Stainless has joined the push for a normalised graphite electrode surcharge, Kallanish reports.
Universal’s surcharge will be $0.04/pound for all electric-arc melted steel grades, effective beginning 1 January. The surcharge will be calculated as part of the company’s monthly raw material surcharges in the future.
