Universal Stainless investigates Dunkirk fire
US steelmaker Universal Stainless is trying to determine what started a fire Thursday in the pickling area of its Dunkirk, New York, mill, Kallanish learns from a company announcement.
No employees were injured as a result of the fire. The company plans to operate the pickling operation “... on a limited basis while utilising outside resources to supplement the operations.” Shipments will not be significantly affected.
