Union responds to Tata Steel UK divestment plans
The UK steelworker’s trade union Community says it is yet to be persuaded of the case for the sale of several businesses by Tata Steel Europe. The steelmaker announced the proposed divestment of five of its subsidiary companies earlier this week (see Kallanish 9 May). Three of the five, Cogent Steel, Firsteel and Engineering Steels (Wolverhampton) are based primarily in the UK.
