UK's steel trade gap shows huge 2017 deficit
UK trade association UK Steel has signalled several key data sets illustrating the performance of the UK steel sector in 2017. These are highlighted ahead of the organisation’s annual summary to be published later in the Spring.
The most worrying takeaway from the data by far was the UK steel trade gap, Kallanish notes. This appears to have increased almost exponentially since 2014, when there was a small positive trade balance of £200,000 ($281,180)…
