Ukraine’s steel consumption falls in January-April, exports surge
Ukraine reduced consumption of steel products in January-April, including rolled and semi-finished products, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
The volume amounted to 1.1 million tonnes, down by 14% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Four-month steel imports were around 351,600t, up 10% on-year, thus accounting for 35% of domestic rolled steel consumption.
