Ukraine’s scrap purchases, exports decrease in January
Ukrainian mills decreased procurement of ferrous scrap in January compared with December, according to the Ukrainian association of secondary metals, UAVtormet.
Purchases were lower by 21% month-on-month to 118,300 tonnes, but were up by 95.5% year-on-year, Kallanish notes. Domestic supply of scrap to Ukrainian enterprises fell 23% on-month, but were 93.3% higher on-year to 95,500t.
