Ukraine’s August output hits highest since war outbreak
Ukrainian steel companies reduced production in January-August due to the Russian-Ukrainian war and logistical problems, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
Eight-month crude steel output amounted to 5.2 million tonnes, down by 64.5% on-year, Kallanish notes. Output of pig iron decreased by 64% to 5.15mt and rolled products were down 65.6% to 4.48mt.
