Ukraine steelmakers to reduce 2022 scrap consumption: associations
Ukrainian steelmakers will probably consume about 3.84 million tonnes of ferrous scrap in 2022, says national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
However, according to the Ukrainian association of secondary metals, UAVtormet, in 2021 the procurement of scrap in the country amounted to 4.13mt, up by 34.6% on-year. This suggests that this year steelmakers in Ukraine will purchase less scrap, Kallanish notes.
