Ukraine’s first-quarter steel consumption falls, exports surge
Ukraine reduced consumption of steel products in January-March, including rolled and semi-finished products, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
The volume amounted to 610,400 tonnes, down by 27.3% on-year, Kallanish notes.
Three-month steel imports were around 207,500t, up 31.4% on-year, thus accounting for 41% of domestic rolled steel consumption.
