Ukraine steelmakers face scrap shortage: reports
Ukrainian steel mills will not have enough ferrous scrap to meet demand this year, says Volodymyr Bubley, president of the Ukrainian association of secondary metals, UAVtormet.
In 2023, they may need up to 1.7 million tonnes to fulfil production plans, while UAVtormet forecasts scrap collectors to provide from 900,000 tonnes to 1.5mt of the feedstock, Ukraine media outlet Obozrevatel cites the association as saying.
