Ukraine decreases scrap purchases in April, exports surge
Ukrainian mills decreased procurement of ferrous scrap in April compared with March, according to the Ukrainian association of secondary metals, UAVtormet.
Purchases were lower by 18.7% month-on-month and 5% less year-on-year to 136,600 tonnes, Kallanish notes. Domestic supply of scrap to Ukrainian enterprises decreased by 26.7% on-month, but rose 19.3% on-year to 101,500t.
