Ukraine continues to reduce scrap purchases, exports
Ukrainian mills reduced procurement of ferrous scrap in January-October, according to the Ukrainian association of secondary metals, UAVtormet.
The volume purchased decreased by 74.6% on-year to 875,000 tonnes, Kallanish notes. Supply of scrap to Ukrainian enterprises also fell, by 71.1% to 801,700t. Reserves of scrap at steel enterprises are meanwhile estimated at less than 20,000-25,000t.
