Ukraine continues to reduce scrap purchases, exports
Ukrainian mills reduced procurement of ferrous scrap in January-August, according to the Ukrainian association of secondary metals, UAVtormet.
The volume purchased decreased by 71.7% on-year to 782,000 tonnes, Kallanish notes. The supply of scrap to Ukrainian enterprises also fell by 67.8% to 713,900t. The reserves of scrap at steel enterprises are meanwhile estimated at less than 65,000t.
