Ukraine continues to decrease steel, pig iron output
Ukrainian steel companies reduced production in January due to the Russian-Ukrainian war, unfavourable global market conditions and logistical problems, according to national steel association Ukrmetallurgprom.
Last month’s crude steel output amounted to 284,000 tonnes, down by 84.7% on-year, Kallanish notes. Output of pig iron decreased by 84.6% to 240,000t and rolled products were down 84.6% to 257,000t.
